Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 1191

Chapter 1191:

The bright light was blinding, the ceiling swayed far above, and Waylon’s breaths grew heavier as heat flushed through his body. His senses felt off, like they were no longer his own.

Waylon tried to piece together broken fragments of memory. He remembered the hotel and realizing his drink had been spiked. He’d called his assistant, asking him to hurry, but after that, his memory blurred. Now, he couldn’t figure out what was happening.

“Waylon, let me take your temperature!” Evie rushed to his side, carrying a first-aid kit. But as her hand reached out, Waylon grabbed her wrist firmly.

“Leave me alone!” His eyes burned with suspicion, and his tense face revealed just how hard he was fighting to stay in control.

“Waylon, it’s me, Evie. You’re unwell. Let me help you,” Evie said softly, trying to calm him. She winced as his grip tightened, causing her wrist to ache.

Evie?

The name and her familiar voice softened something in Waylon. He blinked, recognizing her, and his rigid expression eased slightly.

“Evie, you should leave,” he rasped.

“Call a doctor… and go.”

He could feel the drug coursing through his system with unrelenting intensity. The longer Evie stayed, the greater the risk he might lose control. He needed her gone—now.

But how could Evie, seeing him like this, abandon him and walk out? How could she possibly leave him alone in this state?

“Waylon, you’ve got a fever, and you’re not thinking straight. Don’t speak. Let me take your temperature first. Even if I call the doctor, I need to explain your condition properly!”

As Evie’s hand brushed against Waylon’s skin, a sudden surge of heat coursed through him. The desire he had been desperately trying to suppress flared uncontrollably, like a spark igniting a raging inferno.

The delicate, fresh scent of Evie lingered around him—light, fragrant, and utterly intoxicating. His hand shot out, seizing her wrist with strength she didn’t expect, pulling her closer.

“Waylon! Ugh…”

Everything spiraled out of control in a heartbeat.

When Evie’s tearful eyes met Waylon’s bloodshot gaze, she froze. Feeling the changes within herself, she realized, with sinking dread, that there was no turning back.noveldrama

What followed was a night of unintended consequences.

The next morning, the weight pressing down on him jolted Waylon awake. His brows furrowed as he opened his eyes, only to find Evie’s serene face resting on his chest. His gaze darted lower, the truth dawning on him as he saw their bare bodies entangled under the sheets. Shock rippled through his mind, leaving him momentarily paralyzed.

Evie stirred at his movement, her lashes fluttering open. As her eyes met his, the events of the previous night came flooding back to her.

At the table, the two sat fully clothed, but the silence between them was deafening. Waylon couldn’t bring himself to meet Evie’s gaze. Guilt and self-reproach churned inside him.
