Celestial Queen: Revenge Is Sweet When You’re A Zillionaire Heiress

Chapter 1731

Chapter 1731:

“If you have a problem, you might just have to sleep in the study tonight.”

Her statement was straightforward and playful.

Rhys gazed at her with eyes full of gentle indulgence and a touch of resignation. Being married to someone as spirited and mischievous as Harlee was both a delight and a challenge. Despite the frequent sparks of desire she ignited, she often left him hanging, playfully and lovingly.

Harlee didn’t return to Remson Manor with Rhys. Instead, she made her way to Nyomi’s place.

Since Harlee had reconnected with the Sanderson family, Nyomi had only visited the Sanderson family estate once, and even then, it was brief. Moreover, Nyomi had refused any financial assistance, choosing to let her family live a hard and frugal life. Nyomi’s granddaughter, Virginia Swain, a young girl at the age when dressing up was everything, hadn’t had a new outfit in years. Neither had the rest of her family.

Nyomi had consistently rejected Harlee’s attempts to provide them with financial assistance. The news that Nyomi had passed away more than three months ago hadn’t reached Harlee until earlier that day when she received a message from Virginia. Not wanting to trouble Harlee, Nyomi, before her ultimate demise, had instructed her family not to call her.

That afternoon, Harlee called Virginia and her brother, Ulises Swain, wanting to offer them financial assistance.

Nyomi had never revealed Harlee’s circumstances, so Virginia and Ulises had no idea that Harlee was wealthy.noveldrama

At WM Center, Virginia’s eyes widened as she scanned the boutique.

“Harlee, the prices here are insane. Why don’t we just head over to the shops near campus? The prices there are much more reasonable, and the styles are pretty nice too.”

Virginia’s gaze was drawn to a floral spaghetti-strap dress paired with wide-leg pants, and she was eager to try it on. But when she turned the price tag over, her excitement quickly turned to shock.

Virginia had never been to WM Center before and had no real understanding of luxury fashion. She had thought the prices here would be only slightly higher than those in regular stores, but the price tags were a thousand times more than she’d imagined.

Harlee glanced at the price tag and said indifferently, “Forty-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine? That’s reasonable enough.”

She strolled over to the plush sofa, sank into it with ease, and crossed her legs, exuding an air of casual relaxation.

“If you see something you like, go ahead and try it on. Don’t worry about the cost. I’m not short on cash.”

Virginia swiftly waved her hands, refusing.

“There is no need, Harlee. Although I am aware of your ability and skill at earning money, money doesn’t grow on trees. Spending so much money on us is unnecessary. A few clothes from the regular would satisfy Ulises and myself.”

Standing nearby, Ulises gave a small nod of agreement.”

Harlee shrugged, her tone light.

“As far as I’m concerned, my money might as well grow on trees.”

Rhys had been earning money, allowing her to spend as she wished.

Virginia and Ulises gawked at Harlee, their words failing them. Unfazed, Harlee propped her chin on her palm, her expression calm as she looked at them.

“Relax. What you spend here is pocket change compared to what I make in a minute. If you like everything, I’ll buy out the whole store.”

Virginia was at a loss for words. Panic flared in her chest at the thought of Harlee actually following through on such an outrageous claim. Without a second’s hesitation, she snatched the outfit she had been eyeing and all but bolted to the fitting room.

That left Ulises standing there, still trying to process everything. His gaze flickered toward Harlee, who was only three years older than him.
