Chapter 65
Waiting for that day
Her eyes open, to see Kenzo staring right back at her with a small smile on his lips, he kissed her lips and then her forehead. What was this, she wasn’t dreaming, Kenzo was here. He lifts her chin to look at him. Her chestnut eyes, watch him in the face. He brought his face done and kiss her again.
“What the fuck!”
They disengage immediately, Kenzo pushing Elina off him. Elina turned to her side, pretending nothing had just happened between them.
“What the fuck is this?”
Kenzo parted his lips but couldn’t say anything.
“It’s not what it is Barbra,” Elina said. She wanted to stand but then she remembered she was naked beneath, so she lay back.
“I didn’t say you shouldn’t fuck him, but not here El.”
“Sorry.”
Barbra rolled her eyes and walked into the bathroom, after glaring at Kenzo, whose lips were still clamped shut.
“I should get going.”
Elina nodded. Covering her chest with the duvet. He came down from the bed, looking for his shorts, he saw them on the ground and quickly slip them on.
“This shouldn’t have happened.”
“Are you saying it’s a mistake?”
“I, Well. I.”
“Just get out!” Those little feelings he showed her had swept her away from reality. This was the man he was.
“What I meant was..”
“I don’t care, I don’t even wanna see your face, just get out of here.”
“Elina Listen. I’m doing this because…”
“For yourself, all you do is use me to satisfy your stupid self. I forgot who I was dealing with, I was so stupid.. thinking this was real.”
“It was…”
“Get the fuck out of here.”
Barbra came out of the room now. Standing by the door.
“You hear the girl, you should get out!”
Kenzo sighed. Taking his phone to the table.
“I need to eat breakfast before I leave…”
Barbra chuckled.
“You’ve no shame..”
“You can’t just send me out.”
“I wasn’t gonna throw you out of here.” She stood up with the duvet wrapped around her body. Glaring at him.
He took his wristwatch and wore them.
“Get out of here Kenzo.”
“You came here to hid or what, ditch the bitch on her wedding day. And came here, to do what? Forgot what you said to me. I want to pull a bullet through your skull right now.”
Elina stares at Barbra, then at Kenzo.
“You told. That I was pregnant?”
“Yeah, I did. I thought he was some good thing I did. But I kind of regretted it, didn’t know he came back to meet you, after all the drama he put on.”
She folded her hands.
“You should get going, we don’t want you here again.”
“I was going, wasn’t I..” he walked to the door and held it.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“You would be careful, won’t you?”
Elina nods. She was aware he was talking about the elections and it is closed now. And they had to be more careful.
“Don’t leave the house, don’t go anywhere. Just stay indoors for the next two weeks. If you need to get checked up, call Ezra.”
“Two weeks?”
“It will be over by then. Then I’ll come back for you.”
Elina bites her lips. And stare at him.
“You should get this over with, staying with Elina is a workload already.”
Kenzo chuckled. Elina nudged her by the shoulders.
“What?” She mouthed.
“Do You’ve to say that?”
“I’ll come back, I promise.”
“And when you’re coming back. Better be good.”
He nods. And opened the door. He didn’t wanna leave but he had to. He can’t stay longer. They had to prepare for what was to come. He halted and walked back to her and hugged her. Tightly to himself.
“Stay alive for me.”
She nods. And hugged him back.
“Get hold of yourself, how do you get to stay with someone with a mood swing like him, Elina, you deserve an accolade.”
Kenzo pulled away from her and turned to Barbra.
“Are you bipolar? ” she asked him.
“I’m not.”
“Before you leave. Tell me why..”
“Why did I kill your sister..”
“Yeah.”
she snitches on me. You know I hate snitches. I told her I was gonna help you, get you out of Hazard grip. But she didn’t trust me or wait for me to do anything. She snitched on me and sleep with Hazard. Nothing I hate more than sharing my woman.”
“She did that.”
“I know she loves you and wanted to help you. I wanted to do the same. Save you from there. After we got you away. I killed her, I said I would. And she made me promise to let you go. And I did that.”
Barbra was at the brink of tears.
“That’s why you killed her.”
“You should understand that more than anyone else.”
She nods and runs into the bathroom.
Her sister died because she wanted to save her. That’s why she had to die.
“Go away Kenzo, you couldn’t even say it a milder way. You couldn’t say sorry either.”
“Why should I say sorry. I didn’t do anything.”
“Just get out of here.”
He nods and walked back to the door. He halted again. He went back to her and held her hands.
“Not again.” She groans.
“I’m sorry, Elina, for being such a jerk. I have got this mood swing stuff, I’m attending classes now, so I can get to control my anger, part-time though, to be a better man for you and our baby. I want to show him, love, the love I didn’t experience as a child I wanted him to have all of that. After all, this is done, I want us to leave the city, take a vacation. Just us. And never wanted all of this, I wasn’t a good man, and that’s why I’m doing this for us. So I could be better. So I could love you better. Will you help me, get well.”
She sniffed and squeezed his hands.
“I’m always here for you.”
He smiled and kiss her forehead.
Eventually, he walked away from the house.
“Don’t you think we should get ready to strike..”
“Don’t be in haste Sara. We still have a few days.”
“I can’t wait to get my hands on her.”
“You hate her that much.” He smoked from the pipe and puffed out smoke in the air.
Her hands went up in his chest, caressing it.
“Allow me to put a gun through her head.”
“You’ll have to do that without Roy being aware, there’s no way he’s gonna let that happen.”
“Then we kill him.”
“We can’t kill him just yet, we need him to get Elina.”
“Yeah true.”
She scoffed.
“Asshole!”
“Don’t worry baby, we’re winning.”
“I know we’ve got the ball in our hands.”
They laughed.
“Waiting for that day to come.”
“I’m too.” She lay her head on his chest. And smiled. Elina Brooke, it’s game over for you.
Big time. Game over!
