34 Bold Moves.
“Why should I be the one to face her? You’re the one in the middle of this drama. I’ll just end up in
Inga’s crosshairs if I go,” protested Jada, feeling unfairly dragged into a situation that wasn’t her
making.
“Look, Inga already suspects we’re allies. It’s irrelevant who goes. Plus, this is your chance to shine in
front of Mr. Carson,” encouraged Emma, her eyes twinkling with mischief, implying a deeper game at Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
play.
Jada’s cheeks turned a shade of pink, wondering if Emma had guessed her secret admiration for Mr.
Carson. She could read between the lines in Emma’s knowing look. “Alright, I’ll go now. And you’ll have
to sort out this mess alone!” she retorted, a mix of annoyance and excitement in her voice.
Emma watched Jada dash off, half–wishing she could be a fly on the wall for the impending showdown
with Inga
Meanwhile, in Mr. Carson’s office, Inga was already making her displeasure known. Mr. Carson,
anticipating her arrival, was ready. “If you’re here about Emma’s promotion, save your breath. My
decision is final,” he stated, barely looking up from his documents.
Inga, undeterred, accused him of undermining the shareholders‘ trust by favoring Emma. “What will
people think of you playing favorites?”
Mr. Carson set aside his work, fixing Inga with a steady, steely gaze. “Are you here as a concerned
shareholder, or is this about something personal?”
Caught off guard, Inga fumbled over her words, insisting her concerns were purely professional.
“Let’s not kid ourselves. Our relationship is strictly business,” Mr. Carson cut her off.
Inga, desperate to prove her worth, declared she could outperform Emma and professed her
unwavering support for him, even without financial incentive.
The audacity of her claim left Mr. Carson speechless. Choosing her over his own kin? Impossible. But
before he could respond, Inga began disrobing, first her jacket, then her blouse, revealing more than
intended.
Frozen with disbelief, Mr. Carson couldn’t grasp her intentions. Was she implying Emma used personal
favors for advancement? As he processed this, eyes wide in shock at Inga’s boldness, the door
swung open. Jada, unsuspecting, walked in only to freeze at the sight of Inga’s bold moves.
After a moment of shock, Jada closed the door, debating her next move. Resolute, she re–entered,
confronting Inga, who was hurriedly getting dressed, with a resounding slap for her audacity.
The tension escalated, with Inga reacting fiercely, until Mr. Carson Intervened. “Enough! No violence in
my office. Inga, leave now! Jada, what brought you here?“
