Chapter 20
The following day at night.
Jeorge Milton had driven up to her home. He smoked a cigarette since her home was dark.
She didn’t show up today.
He smoked and glanced at the clock. It was early morning.
What happened?
He was ready to leave when he saw a cab parked in the back and watched her get out and walk up with her head down.
He walked by his car with his head down, without even looking at it.
“Ava Lins!” he said as he opened the car door.
Ava halted.
“Don’t show up in front of me again.”
When Ava turned around, he had called her. “Why didn’t you come to work today?” Jeorge said, his voice sharpening. ”
“Leave.”
She didn’t see him. Her tone was icy.
He disliked her approach towards him!
“Why don’t you come to work?”
“Do I need to inform you?” Ava sneered.
He stopped her. “What happened to your hand?” he said softly, seeing the bandages on the back of her hand.
When she saw he wouldn’t let her go, she exploded with wrath. “Didn’t Boss Goden Bran intervene too much? Do you have to be so mindful of every employee?” she mocked.
“Or am I unique and valuable?”
The man’s shrewdness was alarming to her when she considered his recent questionable behaviors.
“There’s no need to beat about the bush like that, just say it straight ,” Jeorge Milton replied, frowning and squinting his dark eyes.
Hearing this made Ava chuckle. Was he still going to lie?
“Do you not understand?”
“Isn’t that why Mr. Lark helped your cousin win the lawsuit?”
Her eyes were watering as she said this. She clenched her lips to stop the tears. “I was handled like a chess piece,” she sighed sadly.
“Who told you?” said Jeorge Milton.
“What does it matter who said it?” she mused.
“Please go, I don’t want to see you again!” Ava screamed, turning away from him.
“In the future, Jeorge Milton, don’t come in front of me! I’ll quit and declare I’m not qualified for this project.”
Ava Lins didn’t switch on the lights all night. She was the only one in the vast villa, alone on the big crimson bridal bed.
Uncomfortable chilly air came in through the window.
She encircled her frigid body and gazed blankly at the divorce agreement.
She shook the pen near her and scrawled her name.
She knew from the minute Nathan Hill spoke those words at the ball that there would be someone who would replace all she had.
Fearing him, she fooled herself and solely trusted in him.
She thinks their marriage may be salvaged if she appears to know nothing…
But why did she wait?
He didn’t want to touch her. He had zero interest in her .
This comment was like a gigantic rock slamming into her brain as a woman who loved him…
Ava Lins lifted her hand to wipe away her tears and proceeded down the bed to the dressing table to apply cosmetics.
During these years, she didn’t spend much time putting on makeup.
She didn’t have time to assist him cook breakfast or wash his clothing after dressed up.
In his perspective, she was a plain woman.
Stupid enough to give up and let him step on her.
Ava Lins smiled bitterly at her beautiful reflection in the mirror.
Her divorce took place today.
Standing in front of Goden Bran’s office, she couldn’t help but remember that day’s scary situation.
Goden Bran exited the glass door. He was astonished by her outfit today,. From his vantage point, she was stunningly lovely.
Hearing footsteps, Ava turned to face him. With her charming smile, red lips, and gleaming teeth, she made him feel unfamiliar.
Is this his wife?
Ava Lins smiled at him. “Are you free today?” she asked, her voice hushed.
“Will you…”
“I have something to say to you,” Ava said bitterly.
The chilly wind tossed fall leaves into the sky, leading Ava to sigh with sorrow, “Time flies, it has already been two years…
She saw him. “Do you remember our first meeting?”
He purred his lips, slightly frowning. “Have you forgotten?” she said cruelly.
“Your ball rolls to my feet,” she replied, pointing to the field.
Goden Bran stared towards the stadium. “I’m going to call Belli Tannu,” he said, looking at the screen’s phone number.
Then he went to the side.
Ava squinted at his back.
She wouldn’t have met him if she hadn’t gone to Britain University .

“I’m really busy and have things to do. Don’t waste time. There’s something I want to speak to you about…” he said impatiently.
“Our divorce…”
“I’ve signed, so I won’t say anything else.”
Ava stopped him and smiled as she handed him the divorce papers. Then find a time to visit the Civil Affairs Bureau.
The light from the shadows fell across her smiling face.
Goden Bran took the divorce papers. He wanted to speak, but his throat seemed obstructed.
“You can tell me you hate me if you told me you wanted a divorce sooner. You don’t have to go to so much difficulty to find Mr. Lark to create proof of cheating. ”
“We’ve been together for almost two years, yet you don’t know me.” Will I battle for your possessions if we divorce? Why do you need to do something I don’t want to do?
Ava gazed over and smiled . “I brought you here today to remind myself that time cannot alter you.”
She wanted to weep, but not in front of him.
“Tell Mr. Lark I’m heading to Civil Affairs Bureau,” Ava murmured, taking a deep breath,
and turned to go.
“Ava!”
He unconsciously touched her arm.
Ava Lins faced him. “Mr. Goden Bran, is there anything else?” she said, her tone faraway.
He wanted to say something, but he wasn’t sure what to say .
