My husband Ex 89
The sound of a body crashing to the floor was followed by screams from onlookers. An angry voice shouted, but I could barely make out the words because they were drowned out by the sound of hard, scurrying footsteps, telling me another group of people had arrived.
"Let me go!" Zane grumbled to whoever was restraining him from attacking Grey again.
"No, I won't," a voice edged with steel replied. "We don't want our friend to get hurt
further," said a voice I was quite certain did not belong to any of my six brothers nor to the
family bodyguard.
He must have been a friend of my ex-husband.
Someone who had fallen on the floor after being punched rose. Without seeing him, I knew
it was Grey.
"I don't want to fight," Grey said in a surprisingly calm manner after being hit hard in the face. "I just want to see your sister," he added.
I quietly wished he would just leave.noveldrama
"No... I won't allow you to see her...” Zane spat, his tone laced with indescribable fury. "My sister almost died because of you!"
"Damn... Let me go..." Zane hissed under his breath. Struggling to free himself, he
managed to escape the hands holding him.
Again, I could hear the sound of fists smashing into someone's jaw, followed by a loud thud as a body dropped to the floor.
"Don't hurt my brother!” Luis's voice thundered across the hallway.
The next thing I knew, the not-so-serious commotion had turned into a bloody battle of smashing fists between two groups.
The first group belonged to my six brothers, and the other group consisted of Grey and his
circle of friends, which I had no idea how many there were.

Voices screaming, hard punches, and scurrying footsteps filled the hallway for a while. The brawl outside my hospital room went on and on... Just listening to it was enough to drive
me crazy.
I didn't die from being shot, but it seemed I would die of exasperation.
The screams in the hallway intensified, as did the sound of smashing fists. I covered my ears, wishing I could block out the sounds, but it didn't help.
"Calm down, Lily," Mom reminded me again, witnessing the alarm on my face.
I took a deep breath, but despite my efforts to regain my composure, I failed. My worry intensified even more. They were all grown men. How I wished they would stop fighting because they were disturbing other patients who desperately needed rest and peace of
mind.
Cradling my now pounding head, a deep frown carved across my forehead as I eyed the door with a deadly glare. If they didn't stop, I would have to get out and stop them myself. After all, they were all fighting over me.
"Don't ever think about doing it, Lily," Mom said under her breath, as though she could read my thoughts through my expression. "Just let them do what they want... They are all grown men," she reminded me, hoping I wouldn't interfere.
That's the problem, I thought to myself with a sense of foreboding. Grown men cause more trouble than children do. If I didn't stop them, one of them would most likely end up in the
emergency room or, even worse, the morgue.
With a pounding headache that refused to go away, I listened to the sounds of an obvious fight still taking place outside the door.
The fight in the hallway stopped, and I almost thought it was over. However, it was just the calm before the storm because the next thing I knew, the sound of a glass shattering
pierced my ears.

"Good Lord!" Mom exclaimed, startled, her hands pressing against her chest to restrain her heart from jumping out.
Mom looked desperate, as though she wanted to get out and stop the fight herself but was afraid to leave me alone in case I did something drastic, like following her. Unable to take it anymore, I got up from the bed and clambered down.
"Go back to bed, Lily..." Mom gasped in alarm.
"I'm taking care of this matter," I told her.
"I will stop them myself." Mom held me still, her face looking rather pale.
"I doubt you could stop them on your own. Those stubborn men won't listen to anyone right now, but I might be able to stop them," I said between gritted teeth. Mom could do nothing as I pulled away from her.
A dangerous scowl marred my forehead as I searched for my slippers, but I couldn't find any. I couldn't waste time looking for them, so I marched across the room. The tiled floor was cold beneath my feet, but I barely noticed. My mind was only on one thing: ending the
brawl before someone got seriously injured.
At this point, the pounding in my head seemed to intensify. Without warning, I pulled the door open.
"Stop it, everyone!" I yelled, but none of them noticed me. They were literally all over the place, trying to beat the hell out of each other.
Watching the scene, I noticed that three of Grey's best friends were there, exchanging punches with my brothers. Grey himself was on the floor, beside him lay a knocked-over flower pot.
I took a deep breath. Surveying the scene with a furious glare, I spotted a child seated at the far end of the hallway, sobbing violently while watching the fight. The sight of the tearful child escalated my anger.

"I said stop!" I screamed in rage.
The sound of my voice made everyone freeze in their tracks.
Slowly, they all looked at me.
I must have strained myself too much because when my hand went to my
bandaged head, I felt a tinge of wetness there.
Terrified, my eyes slowly fell on my hands, and I realized they were stained with blood.
I wasn't actually terrified of blood, but seeing the amount of blood on my hand
was enough
to terrify me.
Color drained from my face, turning me as pale as a ghost.
Before passing out, I saw the terrified looks on the men's faces, and then
darkness finally
enveloped me.
A few hours later, I woke up in a completely silent room. The only sounds I could hear were the faint sound of my own breathing, the hum of the air-conditioning unit, and the beeping monitor beside the bed.
Opening my eyes, I found my father standing beside the bed. Although his face didn't show it, I knew he was worried.
"I'm glad you're awake," he told me.
"What happened?" I asked in a weak whisper.
"Your mother said you passed out after stressing yourself out and the wound on your head
reopened."
The memories returned to me. I was thankful the brawl had ended, but I couldn't see my brothers inside the room, including Grey's friends. As if reading my thoughts, he spoke. "I temporarily asked the hospital security staff to kick the men out and ban them from

Relief washed over me.

Thank God, I thought to myself. At least I didn't have to worry about Grey and my brothers crossing paths again and causing mayhem.
"Where's Mom?" I quietly asked, and my father could only point to the sofa in silence to show me that Mom was seated there, sipping a glass of water. It seemed she hadn't recovered from the shock of witnessing me pass out. "You rest for a while, Lily. Your mom and I have something to talk about."
I nodded my head, then watched as my father held Mom's hand, and together they walked to the door.

"So you think Natalia Romani is still alive?" Sophia Phoenix asked her husband. They were now seated on a bench outside the hospital.
After looking around to make sure no one could hear them, Philip Phoenix responded, "My intuition tells me she is still alive. I came to see the body in the morgue before I came here, and the body was beyond recognition. The DNA result says it was her, but I don't believe it. Natalia has faked our daughter's death once, and she could do the same for herself-she could pay anyone to fake the DNA result to escape the charges against her."
The news darkened Sophia's expression.
"I honestly feel the same as you do," she said softly. "My instinct has never been wrong, Philip. I feel she is still out there, even though I told our daughter that Natalia is dead because I don't want her to worry."
"You did the right thing, Sophia. We must protect Lily. She has been through a lot,
and she deserves some peace of mind after what happened to her."
"We need to hire more bodyguards for Lily," she advised.

"I already did,” he replied, surprising her. "Once she's discharged from the
hospital, they will keep an eye on her wherever she goes,"
"I also hired men to look for Natalia just in case she's still out there. We can't be
sure if she's lurking around, waiting for the perfect time to strike again. It's better
to be prepared than to feel sorry in the future."
Letting out a deep breath, Sophia nodded in response.
Unless the DNA test result Philip secretly conducted comes out, they could do
nothing but take double safety measures.
If Natalia is indeed still out there, she hoped that she would be caught soon.
