Billionaire's Pregnant Ex-wife

Chapter 14

An Unwanted Visitor

"Good evening. Ma'am" Blake greeted me, his tone formal yet polite. He unlocked the gates, allowing me to step inside before closing them again.

Blake is the Security Head of the Bradfords. He

was younger than I in terms of age-two years to be exact-

but his intelligent, piercing blue eyes and the way he carried himself made him appear older than his actual age. He was polite all the time, yet he had this impenetrable wall surrounding him, letting no one get c

Furthermore, he had been working at the Bradford Mansion for nearly four and a half years, and yet I had never seen him smile. He always wore that impeccable expression on his undeniably handsome face. "Good evening, Blake," I managed to

reply politely. Blake was tall, nearly six feet two inches, or perhaps even taller than ! thought he was, making me look up to meet his gaze.

"Is Grey inside?" I added in a hushed whisper, even though there was no one nearby to hear my question.

For a moment, Blake hesitated. A scintillating doubt crossed his face, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared. Again, his face turned emotionless, leaving me to wonder if I hadn't just imagined the doubt I had seen cross his face.

He didn't immediately reply. Instead, he took a moment to close the door, as though he was buying some time to consider what to tell me.

The gates rattled closed, and the sound of metal clanging reached my ears. Almost a minute later, he returned, his expression unreadable, and there was no hint or clue in his demeanor to indicate what he was Shrugging my shoulders, I thanked him before making a beeline straight to the grand door of the expansive mansion. Halfway to the lawn, I pulled to an abrupt stop after spotting two cars in the driveway. I imme A sudden idea crossed my mind, making my eyebrows widen in disbelief. "Did he did he bring a woman into the mansion?" The thought made fury bubble inside me. I didn't need to guess who the company my The thought of Grey bringing his mistress into our house made my lips purse into a thin line. How dare he! Just how dare he! I cursed under my breath, my chest heaving with the intensity of my emotions. Taking a deep breath, I allowed my emotions to cool down

before they got the best of me. Once I felt as calm as the waters smoothly flowing in the fountain, I marched

inside the mansion to see what Grey and Natalia were up to.

Grey Bradford sat enigmatically in his swivel chair, a document in one hand and a pen in the other, his mind solely focused on reading. The room was quite still, as though the office were empty. The only sounds conditioning unit and the barely audible ticking of the clock in the background.

The frown scrunching his forehead vanished, and he slowly relaxed. With smooth ease, he laid the document on the table and placed his signature where required before shifting his gaze to the woman he had "Welcome to Bradford Enterprises. I'm glad you accepted the offer to become one of our product endorsers," he smiled. It was not actually a smile, but a forced, practiced one he always portrayed after a seemi Natalia Romani smiled back at him. Beneath the transparent glass table, he saw her cross her legs, making the hem of the scanty gown she wore hitch up, almost revealing the fullness of her soft, creamy thighs. He could almost see an inch of her red, lacy underwear peeking between where her thighs met.

Grey immediately looked away. He was just glad that his wife wasn't fond of wearing scandalous clothes like that, he thought grimly, stopping himself. 'Soon- to-be ex-wife, he corrected painfully.

"I'm glad to be a part of your company, Grey," Natalia spoke gently, in an almost singsong voice. For a moment, he was

grateful for the temporary distraction; he was able to forget about Lily, even for a little while.

Grey shook hands with Natalia the way he always did with anyone with whom he had just made a deal. After the formal handshake, he waited for her to rise from her seat and hid her nondhve She disappointed him by crossing her arms

his growing irritation.

"I'm thirsty," Natalia whispered, her eyes craving as she looked at

him. But Grey doubted if it was refreshment she was craving, as her gaze greedily devoured his form.

Grey Bradford wanted Natalia out of the mansion. He was not in the mood to flirt with an ex-

girlfriend who had jilted him at the altar and chosen her career over him. But Natalia, as at ease as she seemed, showed no sign that she would be leaving anytime soon. Despite his desire to be frank with her about wanting her out of his mansion, his good manners won out in the end.

"What would you like to drink-

water, juice, or wine?" Clearing his throat, he finally asked her with

an inward groan.

"Wine, please," she replied, her eyes brightening.

Forced to get up from the comforts of his

swivel chair, he dragged his feet to the mini bar inside his office.

The minibar stood in the corner of his office, opposite the floor-to-

ceiling window. Grey had ensured that there was a mini bar in his private space, just in case he was in the mood to indulge in his favorite beverages. Suddenly, he regretted installing one, it only gave Natalia a r For the umpteenth time, he sighed. He was about to grab the half-noveldrama

There was champagne, vodka, gin, whiskey, and cocktails, but no wine! H He did not take time to select which wine to serve Natalia. Instead, he took the first bottle his hand touched without even looking at it or considering whether she would like the taste or not. It would be better if sh
