Chapter 43: Simon Muller, Keep On Being Interested in Me
Chapter 43: Simon Muller, Keep On Being Interested in Me
Virginie felt numb. Olivier had said similar things in the past in a doting tone. Unlike now, he spoke as if
calmly telling a truth.
Olivier took out a cigarette but didn't lit it. Ad he gazed at Virginie, his deep and silent expression never
changed. He said in a monotone voice, "Don't you think I've been willingly used by you all these
years?"
Virginie's face instantly turned deathly pale.
All these years she had devoted her love to Samuel yet at the same time enjoyed all the attention and
devotion Olivier gave her.
Virginie had wanted to ask more too, the clothes he and Fleur wore last night, for example. Moreover,
the navy blue clothes he wore were undoubtedly matching with the one Fleur wore at the police station.
He had only known Fleur for a few days, how could...
What's more, he had personally cooked for Fleur in Stunning club.
However, Virginie was now at a loss of words at what Olivier had just said. "Don't you think I'm upset
with you using me all these years?" Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
She mouthed soundlessly but left without a word.
She sat in her parked car for a long time before regaining visible consciousness.
She had a terribly bad feeling.
Virginie had never felt threatened by any women around Olivier in the past because she knew Olivier
did not care about them at all.
But this time was different. From her first time seeing Fleur at the club, then at the parking lot...
Virginie had felt threatened. Fleur was too striking, too determined.
Virginie had hit a wall again today. Not only did Olivier not help her, he sounded protective of Fleur and
was displeased with Virginie as well.
To put it in a selfish way, Olivier did not want to be used anymore.
Fleur's car arrived just as Virginie's left. Fleur made her way to the lobby without pause.
She found a quiet spot to sit. Although she really wanted to call Olivier, she decided not. Virginie had
just left alone, and the conversation those two had would not have been a pleasant one.
Fleur thought it was best if she did not show up right now, for fear of irritating Olivier further.
It was still too early for lunch, only 10 in the morning, so Fleur decided to take a stroll through the hotel.
She went into the hotel gardens from the lobby. Even though it was autumn, the gardens were vibrantly
veridian, pleasant scenery all around.
200 meters beyond the gardens was a road paved in yellow. Fleur went in that direction and found
herself in a poplar forest.
The trees were dotted with bright yellow leaves, many layering on the ground as well. It carpeted the
road in gold.
There were visitors taking pictures, hugging, kissing, laughing, conversing.
Fleur stood at the entrance unmoving. It did not look like she belonged here, with all the people around
and the pleasant view of leaves falling.
She stood there for who knows how long, until someone asked her to help take a photo.
It was an old woman and her husband. Fleur helped them take several pictures.
"Thank you, Miss. You're so beautiful!"
"Thank you. You are even more elegant." The old woman carried an elegance that seemed to be from
self-cultivation and healing.
"You really have a way with words. Would you like to have a picture taken? I can help you."
"No, thank you. I don't like being in pictures."
The woman was cheerful and talkative, conversing with Fleur some more until her son came over. He
was dressed casually with a head of ruffled hair, looking quite charming.
He came over, dark eyes pausing on Fleur for a moment before he said to the two old folks, "Mom,
Dad."
The old woman smiled and held her son's arm. "Miss, this is my son, Simon Muller."
Fleur smiled politely and said, "Hi."
Simon did not respond. His eyes reflected an almost imperceptible warmth from the surrounding
autumn poplars.
Fleur only looked at him in return.
The old woman glanced at the two and thought how handsome they both looked together. The young
woman really was beautiful. A thought came to the old woman's mind.
With a twinkle in her eyes she asked Fleur while taking her hand, "Miss, you don't have a boyfriend, do
you?"
Huh?
"My son is 29 years old, has no bad habits to name, and he runs a winery. Would you like to consider
him?"
Fleur looked at Simon, who seemed to be indulging his mother by not rebutting.
"Ma'am, I'm afraid I'm no match for your son. He seems to be quite an outstanding man."
"What are you saying? I think he might not be a match for you."
"That's right!" Simon's father chimed in. What worried him was the fact that his son still had not found
someone at this age. "Don't worry, you'll be treated right if you join our family."
"Mhm!" His mother nodded enthusiastically. She let Simon take his phone out to ask for Fleur's number.
Simon actually did, unlocked his phone and gave it to Fleur, "Add your number and messaging info."
The two old folks were overjoyed seeing this exchange. Their son had never been so cooperative
before when they tried getting him to get a girlfriend!
This time looked promising!
Fleur quickly typed something on his phone. When Simon got it back he saw a few words written on it:
Don't interfere.
Simon raised a brow with a smile.
"Since you've given your number, why not we have dinner together?" Simon's mother said in a coaxing
manner.
"I..." Before Fleur could respond, Simon was already saying:
"Mom, she'll think there's no woman in our family if you keep this up."
"We aren't! Who do you think is the reason for that?" Simon's father responded fiercely.
"... At the very least let me do this myself. Dinner is still between the both of us first before we go to you
two."
That was true.
......
The two old folks left on their own, sent back neither by Simon nor a driver. They even gave Fleur a
warm hug before leaving, letting her know where they stayed and that she could come visit anytime.
Fleur stood still for a long time after seeing them off. The parking lot still echoed their lively warmth,
wind sending her hair rippling.
"Are you envious?"
Simon asked.
Fleur turned back and met his deep eyes. Simon was as handsome as Samuel was.
Her eyes darkened. "Of course. So you have to keep on being interested in me. I'll join your family if I'm
abandoned in the future."
"..."
Simon's expression shifted slightly. "Who ever said that I'm into you?"
"You've been staring the moment you saw me. I had thought you were attracted to me."
"Ha." He barked a short laugh. "You've been staring at me the moment you saw me, for more than
three minutes. Does that mean we're both interested in one another?"
"I never said I was into you."
Simon's jaw tightened at that. He left for the lobby without a word.
Fleur pursed her lips. Men had such quick tempers, she thought.
