Chapter 413
Chapter 413
Luca’s POV
The following week passed by in a blur.
So much had happened and so little as well.
Because of Aria’s death, I took a much needed break from work, staying at home the entire week.
Sofia was the only one keeping me afloat. Without her presence in my life right now, I knew damn well
that I’d have sank to the very bottom since the start of this entire thing.
But her presence was right there to keep me sane. Her hugs seemed like it had some magical calming
effect around it, yeye probably didn’t know it, but her presence controls the amount of thoughts going
on in my mind at multiple intervals.
The fact that Sofia was also there for Armani as well, made me feel really good. I knew that she had
formed some sort of bond with Armani, which I get a little jealous of sometimes, because it always
looks like it comes so damn easy for the both of them.
I found myself just getting lost in the background while watching Sofia and Armani bicker like toddlers.
It was so damn cute and wholesome, it made my chest tighten up each time I thought about that
particular scene.
Those little little scenes like that is what’s helping me recover from Aria‘a death, which still hurts so
much.
Deep down, I knew that I might most definitely never get over the guilt inside of me. I should have
protected her better, if I had done just that, none of this would have happened in the first place. Then,
she’d have been alive right now, and she’d have most definitely meet up with Sofia a long time ago.
Who knows? As I had hoped, they might have ended up becoming really great friends.
With a long sigh, I exited the bedroom and climbed down the stairs, looking around for Sofia. I sighted
her at the sitting room, on the floor with her legs folded beneath her, and Armani seated next to her.
They had on concentrated looks on their faces as they both stared into a laptop which Sofia was slowly
tapping away on.
I watched the scene for a few minutes before clearing my throat, and as soon as Sofia’s eyes focused
on me, a grin split out on her face.
“Hi bunny,” I murmured, motioning her over.
“Sorry, I’m going to have to steal her for now.” I called out to Armani who was back to taping away on
the laptop. He didn’t even glance up, all he did was to give me an absent minded nod and a small
wave, making me feel extremely curious as I led Sofia out of the sitting room with my hand around her
waist.
I wanted to ask her what she was doing with Armani but decided against it because it was none or my
business, and because I believe my attention would be brought to anything as fast as possible so far it
concerns me.
“Wanna go out this evening?” I asked as I led her up the stairs. Sofia glanced up at me, eyes gleamingThis material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
as she nodded her head a couple of times.
“Definitely! Where are we going?” She asked as I held the bedroom door open for her.
“We could go to a library,” I said and watched as she stiffened before whirling around to regard me
incredulously.
“The library?” She asked head tilted sideways and curls framing her face beautifully.
I nodded my head. “Yes, bunny. The library?”
“But … is that your scene?” She asked, looking a little lost and I chuckled as I shook my hesd, hand
reaching doen to clasp hers.
“No, bunny. But it’s yours.”
“Why then are we going there this afternoon? Aren’t you supposed to go to a place you’d actually
enjoy?”
I snorted a little, my second hand reaching out to brush her hair out of her face. “We’re going there this
afternoon because it’s a scene you like, and I want to take you to somewhere you’d enjoy.”
“Oh.” She whispered, blinking up at me.
“I’d have fun there just fine because of your presence. Don’t worry your pretty head off right now, just
go get ready in something comfortable. I actually just went to spend time with you is all.” I explained
and Sofia nodded a few times, biting her bottom lips right before she whirled around and entered the
walk in closet.

“You know, I’ve never been to a library before,” Sofia said in a dreamy voice as she looked through
multiple books at once. I was enjoying the fact that she was obviously having fun right now.
“Really? Why?” I asked, reaching out to brush her hair out of her eyes. She flashed me a grateful smile
as she nodded her head.
“My father would have had my head should I have ever brought up the topic of wanting to visit the
liberty.” She explained, dropping the book she had been looking through to pick another one.
“And, I guess I just never actually remembered to visit one ever since I got married to you and could
visit wherever I wanted. It might also be because it’s not Kayla’s scene, which is probably why it just
never came to mind.”
She stopped in her tracks once she was done to turn around fully to stare at me, with the book still
clutched in her hand which she pressed against her chest in this particular moment.
“I’m glad my first visit to the library is with you though.”
Then she bit on her bottom lip, right before a little color stained her cheeks. “It feels special.” She
mumbled, voice soft and lowered.
I reached forward and traced my fingers across her jaw, tilting her head backwards to brush a soft kiss
against her slack kiss.
“It is special. That’s the reason why I wanted to take you out in the first place.” I murmured against her
lips, brushing another light kiss against her kiss once I was done.
“I wish I can take you out some more, but I have to be careful, you know? To avoid walking into any
trap. Everywhere is pretty dangerous once it’s a situation related to me.” I murmured after some time.
We were currently seated in a seat in the library, pressed side to side. This part of the library was
empty, which made everything feel more special right now.
“I have something for you.” Sofia’s soft voice pulled me out of my thoughts and when I glanced at her, I
noticed something in her hand, which she held out to me. It felt cold when I accepted it, and I noticed it
was a black bracelet.
It was simple and I fell in love with it in an instant. It’s the first gift I’ve gotten from her, and of course,
that made it more special.
“I’m sorry it’s too small. I actually got it weeks ago but was too–”
“What do you mean? It’s perfect. I love it.” I interrupted, holding the bracelet out for her.
“Wanna put it on for me?”
