Chapter 1718
With her neck shrunk, Victoria held onto her clothes and pursed her lips. She felt tears well up in her eyes. "He won't even agree to such a small request."
She felt very hurt. In an instant, she felt overwhelmed by her emotions. She was desolate. Previously, no matter what she encountered, she always had her parents there to support her. Going home and seeing them, in fact, just thinking of them made her feel warm and hopeful on the inside.
At this time, Victoria's heart seemed to be shrouded in darkness, and there was no light and color at all. After being treated so coldly by Trevor, for the first time, she clearly realized that she was not the happiest person in the world. Perhaps, she was the most pitiful person in the world! She never had any expectations. It was hard to lose something that one worked so hard to regain. Sadly, she had been through this twice.
Her heart was bleeding. For a long time, she could not even cry and she did not move.
Finally, after stabilizing her emotions, she walked into the bathroom with her shoulders slumped. She quickly changed and freshened herself up. Looking at the mirror, she pursed her lips. Then, she quickly went out the door.
As her heels clicked against the floor, Trevor's hand paused whilst stirring his coffee. Trevor also came to his senses. Subconsciously, he raised his eyes. A slim figure with long fluttering hair and a graceful figure entered his sight without warning. She looked like a dancing butterfly. His heart suddenly jumped to his throat. His mind went blank and his deep eyes also froze for two seconds.
Dressed in a beige and tight-fitting long dress, her curvy figure was highlighted. She wore the dress coupled with a black belt and a black jacket. Her aura was very dignified and fashionable. Her half-up hairdo showed off her dainty earrings. She had a delicate face of makeup paired with a red lip. She was lowkey but her aura was enticing. She looked like the complete opposite of the weak girl earlier. Although her face had become rounder than before, her dress and hair, together with her makeup, looked much brighter and softer, unlike her harshness from before.
Trevor felt like his heart was skipping a beat. After a while, he stopped in the air with his hand holding coffee and did not move.
How ridiculous!noveldrama
How could he still be amazed by a woman who trampled his heart under her feet?
He had seen all kinds of beauties, curvy, slim, and so on.
"Out of all of them, why did it have to be her?" he pondered.
He unconsciously tensed up a little, put down the coffee cup, got up, buckled his suit button, and turned to walk toward the door. He did not say a word from beginning to end.
The moment he moved, Victoria looked down and clenched the bag in her hand. With a soft sigh, she followed along behind him while keeping a certain distance. Along the way, Victoria was sitting in the back seat of the car. She looked ahead and occasionally turned around to see the rapidly passing scenery outside the window. It seemed like she was thinking about something. Trevor was sitting by her side. He kept his attention on his phone, not once did he raise his head. The two of them were like strangers. The distance between them felt worlds apart.
There was no sound in the car, and the air felt heavy and depressing. It reflected the moods in their hearts.
As the neon lights flashed, the car slowly pulled up at a magnificent mansion.
In a trance, Victoria turned around and saw that the door had opened. At this time, a wide palm appeared in front of her. At the same time, she was met with a handsome and dignified face. Narrowing his deep pupils, his lips curved into a faint smile. It was like warm sunshine. He seemed to possess a magic that could draw her in, as if back to the past. Victoria's eyes were distracted for two seconds, and the lips of his tightly pursed lips unconsciously showed signs of loosening. At this moment, a low but obviously impatient voice came,
"Why aren't you coming down?"
Her fantasy was immediately shattered. With a quiver, Victoria suddenly realized that the deep blue and black eyes were like a pool of stagnant water, completely different from the smile marks on his lips.
Looking back at the big palm in front of her, Victoria understood. He was not being nice nor considerate, he was just acting.
For a brief moment, she thought that he had returned to his old self. She was ecstatic.
Raising her hand with a hollow smile, she put her slender fingers into his, and then let him lead her out of the car.
As soon as she stood firm, she felt a tight grip around her waist which made her ache. She frowned unconsciously and turned her head. Her eyes were full of doubts as she stared at the man beside her.
Why was he still doing this when he was so unwilling?
Victoria's heart ached. She simply could not stand it anymore. Something was stirring in her heart and was about to break out.
At this time, a shout was heard. "Victoria!"
Within the next second, Norman, Veronica, and Amanda came out of the house. They were very emotional. With a few big strides, they ran over to Victoria. "Mom! You... Are you okay?
She looked at her mother up and down and instantly burst into tears. As soon as Victoria opened her mouth, she changed the topic. "Mom and Dad, I've missed you guys!"
From the looks of her parents, she could tell that they must be fine. Trevor had just been playing with her.
She was a little angry, but she couldn't hide the joy of the reunion. She looked at her parents with tears in their eyes. Victoria felt incredibly guilty. She turned around and looked over.
"Sorry for making you guys worry and causing so much trouble!"
Her voice was soft. Victoria's words were not only apologetic but filled with remorse. She thought that she was able to face all this after thinking it through. When she ran away, she never expected it to lead to all this.
Perhaps she had ruined it for herself. The supposedly touching moment turned awkward. She knew deep down that it was her own fault.

Her eyes were scanning between her parents and her in-laws. She was the only
one who knew the truth, and thus she couldn't help but feel bad.
At first, Amanda
was confused and
had some suspicions in her mind. But looking at the way Trevor and Victoria interacted, she changed her mind. What happened between them? Is there something we don't know about?" she wondered.

"It's good that you're back! It's good that you're back!" Amanda uttered.
"Yes! We're family. Let's go in and talk about it!"
The more her parents loved and respected her, the more the in-laws were reasonable and tolerant. In fact, this served only to make Victoria feel more and more uncomfortable. Since her grandfather had spoken, neither Trevor nor Victoria dared to say otherwise. Eventually, they all turned to go into the house.
