Awake At Dawn (Wildflower Series Book 2)

Awake At Dawn: eight years ago 9

Noah nodded in response to my question. “Yeah, I’ve been playing backup quarterback for Julian for the last two years, but now that he’s graduating, I’ll take his place in the starting lineup. I’m a junior.”

Some guys might have said those last words with a touch of cockiness, but Noah stated it casually, like it was just a fact. He didn’t even really seem keen to elaborate. In fact, he immediately turned the conversation back to me.

“What about you? Do you play any sports? I remember Julian saying that at least one of his sisters was a collegiate athlete. Sorry, I don’t remember which one.” A slight flush colored his cheeks as though he thought he should have remembered such a random fact about my family, and it had to be the cutest thing I’d ever seen.

“He was probably talking about me. I’m a junior, too. A collegiate figure skater,” I said with a smile, and Noah’s eyes dropped to my mouth. It only lasted a second, but for some reason, it caused a flicker of heat beneath my skin.

“Oh, yeah?”

His lopsided grin returned as he pushed the sleeves of his long-sleeve shirt up, baring tattooed forearms, which he crossed over his chest as he regarded me with interest—like he really wanted to know more about skating.

My mouth ran dry.

I changed my mind.

Cute did not describe this man.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

He was hot.

Actually, he was so unbelievably attractive that I couldn’t believe he was still talking to me.

Of course this would happen.

Of course the first time in forever I find a guy like this…and he was my brother’s friend.
