Chapter 0088
Mia stared in shock.
What was Hunter planning?
Charles, the driver, caught on quickly. He pulled over to the side of the road, stepped out, and closed the door behind him, giving the couple some privacy.
"Looks like Mr. Jasper wants to get a little intimate out here. Who would've thought he'd be so bold?" Charles thought.
As soon as the door clicked shut, Hunter pulled Mia into his arms with a sly smile. "Now that the driver's out, can we get started?"
It took Mia a moment to process his words before she quickly came up with an excuse. "I just ate. If 1 move too much, I might get sick all over the car."
She didn't want to go through with it, so she just said whatever came to mind.
Hunter narrowed his eyes at her. "We're not even divorced yet, and you're already playing the chaste, devoted woman for Zac? What, don't you want your grandma's medication anymore? Or maybe you don't want your friend's studio to keep running? Oh, and let's not forget your dear Zac's new law firm. Do you want that to go down too?"
There was a sharp edge in his voice, and Mia felt a chill run down her spine. Hunter was actually threatening the people close to her.
"I'm not divorcing you, Mia," he said, his tone steely. "And I'm not going to stand by while you get cozy with another man. Otherwise, everything I just mentioned, you'll find out soon enough if I meant it." He cupped her face, leaning in to kiss her.
Furious, Mia's whole body trembled as she slapped him. "You've gone too far, Hunter!"
Hadn't she done enough for him over the past three years? How could he treat her this way?
Hunter's gaze turned cold, a dangerous glint in his eyes. "What's this? You refuse the divorce and then resort to domestic abuse now? Careful, Mrs. Jasper. You're a lawyer. I could have you charged."
"Hunter, can we leave other people out of this? They haven't done anything wrong!" Mia's eyes reddened, her shoulders trembling slightly as she tried to hold herself together.
If it were Jenna, he would never treat her this way.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
That's the difference between love and indifference.
"Of course they haven't done anything wrong. You're the one at fault." Hunter gave a cold laugh. "You've spent three years as Mrs. Jasper, and the Smith family has taken millions from me. Now, if we divorce, I'm left with a huge loss. I'm a businessman, Mia, and I don't make deals that don't pay."
Mia clenched the hem of her shirt tightly, feeling a crushing pain in her chest. So, the reason Hunter refused to let her go was because of the millions her family had taken from him.
He wanted to avoid a "loss" on his investment by keeping her around to torment. How ruthless could he
be?
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she looked up at him, her voice low. "I don't have the money to pay you back, but... I have this body." She started unbuttoning her shirt. Hunter narrowed his eyes.
Was she offering herself as a way to cancel the debt? Or was she just trying to calm him down to protect the people close to her?
Mia slipped off her shirt, leaving only a fitted, thin camisole that clung to her curves, the soft fabric barely concealing the enticing shape beneath.
Her hands gripped the hem of the camisole tightly as she took a steadying breath, mentally preparing herself. She had been with him before, after all. One more time wouldn't make a difference. But with the baby, she would have to be careful and avoid anything too rough.
After a moment's hesitation, she lifted her camisole and let it fall away, revealing her alluring figure. Hunter's gaze darkened, his eyes tracing her form with unmistakable intensity. He had this beautiful, enticing body to himself for three years, yet he was still thoroughly captivated.
A fire blazed in Hunter's eyes, his body heating with desire.
"Mia, you're playing with fire."
Ignoring his warning, she wrapped her arms around his neck, her body pressing close. She moved gently against him as she whispered softly, "Just... be gentle with me." Chapter 0089
