chapter 75 Beautiful and delicious
Olivia was occupied through the day and night, barely sleeping a wink.
As she drove back to Xavier's villa, she felt like she was going to pass out.
Finally, the woman arrived at the villa. She parked her car and went upstairs, and the delicious scent of food wafted into her nostrils.
She immediately walked over to the kitchen, spotting an apron-wearing Xavier, busy working his magic there. He turned to look at her.
Olivia smiled satisfyingly. "You're a feast for the eyes!"
Her gaze didn't linger on the dishes beside Xavier. Instead, she stared at the man with a mischievous smile.
Realizing that Olivia had flirted with him, Xavier grinned at her. "Did you just come out of the slums that you feel like consuming everything you lay your eyes on?"
Olivia glanced at her dirty face and messy clothes, coughing embarrassedly. "Consuming you won't satiate my hunger. I only have eyes for the dishes you cooked."
She immediately realized that she had confessed to the thought in her mind without being pressed.
Xavier didn't make the meaning of his words explicitly clear, and Olivia had gone ahead, saying whatever was on her mind.
She mused, "Oh my! A person's reaction will become slow when they are exhausted. I must take a bath and have a good sleep."
Olivia hurriedly turned to escape from the kitchen, but Xavier wrapped his arms around her from behind.
Olivia was startled and instinctively wanted to struggle.
After all, she was in such a mess that she disliked herself, and she didn't want to get intimate with Xavier at the moment.
But Xavier held onto her tightly, and she was so exhausted that she couldn't free herself.
"Are you sure you won't be full after consuming me?" Xavier leaned close to her ear, whispering. His hoarse voice and the cheeky grin on his face make her heart beat uneasily.
"Did I say the wrong thing?" Olivia thought.
She swallowed her saliva and chose to play dumb. "Mr. Xavier, can I take a shower first?"
Xavier peered at her dirty clothes and smiled. "Okay. You can satiate your hunger after you clean up yourself."
After saying that, he gently let go of her and laughed. "You have to try to know the true feeling of being full."
Olivia didn't know what to say.
What else could she do?
So, in the end, she chose to flee.
After finally returning to the room and taking a comfortable shower, Olivia went downstairs to eat in her pajamas.
Looking at her favorite dish on the table, Olivia picked up her cutlery and started digging in.
Xavier sat aside with a coquettish smile, watching Olivia eating so happily. Occasionally, he would put food on her plate, and sometimes, he would feed the food into her mouth directly.
Olivia opened her mouth naturally, biting the food Xavier gave before she realized something was amiss. She glared at Xavier.
Xavier raised his eyebrows and smiled. "Eat more."
Thump!
Olivia's heart beat restlessly again. She hurriedly turned her face away and buried herself in her food.
At around eight o'clock in the evening, Olivia was done eating. That was when Xavier told her he had arranged a meeting with the Si Family at ten o'clock that night and asked whether she had any objection.
Olivia frowned immediately. "There's no rush. Let's meet at ten o'clock tomorrow morning. I need to sleep now."
Xavier caressed her head lovingly. "Okay. Go rest now."
So, Olivia slept until nine o'clock in the morning the next day, and it was Xavier who rose her from her sleep.
After some dilly-dallying, they arrived at the Si residence at precisely ten o'clock in the morning.
None of the Si family members slept well last night. It was evident that Dennis' condition had continued to worsen, and they were afraid that he wouldn't pull it through the night.
And if that happened, the Si Family would be doomed.
Different from the situation last time, as soon as Olivia arrived at the Si Residence this time around, all the Si Family members came to greet her at the door. They talked to her nicely as if they feared she would leave in frustration again.
As for Olivia, she didn't act like a big-headed person. She still acted and spoke politely like she did last time.
After all, she was being paid for her service, and having the basic courtesy to be polite to her client was necessary. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
However, when the group arrived at Dennis' room, Olivia's expression turned gloomy.
She strode to the older man's bed and reached for his pulse.
A few minutes later, she turned around with a dark face and asked Yaron, "What have you guys done to him in the past few days?"
Yaron was shocked by the expression on Olivia's face, and he didn't know how to respond momentarily.
Zachary hurriedly stepped forward and said nervously, "Dr. Xue, w-what's wrong? What's wrong with my dad?"
Olivia didn't answer Zachary's question. She quickly scanned her surroundings, noticing a candle at the corner of the room.
She strode forward, picked it up, and sniffed it. Then, Olivia questioned grimly, "Who lit this?"
Timothy stood up uneasily. "Dr. Xue, is… is there something wrong with the candle?"
"You almost killed the old man! Do you know that?" Olivia's sharp eyes landed on Timothy. He was so terrified that he trembled, nearly losing his balance.
"H-How is that possible? Zayden sent this candle to us. He said this was made by the elderly of the Pharmacists Association personally, and can be used to keep a person calm and relaxed," Timothy explained apprehensively, "Yaron said old Mr. Si's condition is grim lately, so I thought of using this to keep him comfortable."
"You were deceived," Olivia answered simply, "This candle does not have the benefit of calming or relaxing old Mr. Si. Instead, it is a candle that will revive the poisonous insect in him."
"His body is weak. Reviving the poisonous insect in him before the preparation is done can kill him."
Everyone broke out in cold sweat when they heard Olivia's words.
"This…" Timothy looked at Olivia, at a loss. "What should we do now? How is old Mr. Si?"
"It's all my fault. I was too gullible. If something happens to old Mr. Si, I-I will never be able to forgive myself," Timothy said, kneeling in front of the bed with a regretful expression.
Olivia's penetrative gaze swept over Timothy, but she didn't speak as she waited for the Si Family to decide what to do next.
Zachary looked upset, but he asked Olivia politely, "Dr. Xue, how is my dad's current condition? Can he still be saved?"
Olivia smiled. "Of course. However, the difficulty of doing that has more than doubled from before."
"Do whatever you need to do to save him! If one billion dollars is not enough, I can give you another one hundred million dollars," Zachary stated anxiously.
Olivia mused, "One billion dollars?"
She glanced at Xavier and couldn't help laughing after seeing the smugness on the man's face.
"Haha! He didn't hesitate when it came to taking advantage of his family's money. But well, since the Si Family has proven their sincerity to me, I will try my best to save old Mr. Si!"
Olivia pretended to ponder momentarily. "I'll try my best. You guys can leave. Nobody can stay behind other than Xavier."
Yaron stood in place stubbornly. "Dr. Xue, please allow me to stay!"
Zachary wiped his sweat, voicing urgently, "Dr. Xue, Yaron has great medical skills. Maybe he can help you if he stays put."
"All right. He can stay." Olivia spoke nonchalantly. Then, she called out to Zachary.
"Mr. Zachary, please hand me a bowl of your blood before you head out," Olivia told him, "The blood of old Mr. Si's closest relative is the key to saving him!"
"A bowl of blood?!" Zachary exclaimed inwardly.
His face paled. "Xavier is also a member of the Si Family. He's young and strong, and should be a better donor than me."
Olivia shook her head. "Are you sure Xavier is old Mr. Si's biological child?"
Zachary didn't know what to reply to that.
