Chapter 26: I Have The Final Say Between Us
After lunch, Wendy was about to go to school. Rex frowned and asked coldly, “What can the school teach you?”
“Don’t you know that learning is for the rise of the country!?”
“Oh.” Rex glanced at her lazily. “If there are a few more brain-dead people like you in our country, the GDP will definitely decrease.”
Wendy: “……”
“He’s smart. So what?”
“Do you think it will be more developed if there are more people like you!”
“That’s not necessarily the case.” Rex raised his eyelids. “No one is smarter than me.”
“Seriously?”
Wendy waved her fist at Rex’s back. The butler shook his head helplessly and said, “Mrs. Gavyn, Master Gavyn has already grasped the economic lifeline of the Gavyn Group at the age of 15. And at the age of 18, the shareholders and founding members of the Gavyn Group all listen to him.”
Wendy curled her lip and refused to believe this cruel reality.
Rex turned around and glanced at her impatiently. “Take your backpack. Aren’t you going to school?”
“Oh! Yeah.”
Sitting in the black Bentley, Wendy looked at Rex with a bit of embarrassment. “Can you drop me off somewhere far away from the school?”
“Why?”
“I……” She hesitated for a moment before avoiding his inquisitive eyes. She braced herself and said, “I’m afraid people will gossip about me.”
“We’re already married,” Rex said calmly, asking Clare to drive the car to the school gate. “If anyone dares to gossip about us, show them our marriage certificate.”
“……I’m afraid that there are too many people gossiping about me and just a marriage certificate is not enough.”
Wendy wanted to cry, but after Clare parked the car, she quickly opened the door and ran out.
Clare’s forehead was covered with cold sweat, and the temperature in the car dropped sharply.
Seeing her walking further and further away, Rex clenched his fists and asked in a low voice, “Clare, is it shameful to marry me?”
“No, of course not. Many women in Jena City want to marry you.”
“Then why is she running so fast as if a beast was chasing her.”
“Well……” Clare raised his hand to wipe away his sweat. “Maybe Mrs. Gavyn is still too young to get married.”
Rex nodded thoughtfully. “Give me Headmaster Falcone’s number.”
“Right away.”
……
Wendy ran to the classroom building, panting. She went up to the third floor in one breath. Her best friend, Daisy Steed, saw that she was sweating profusely and took out a tissue to wipe her sweat.
“Why are you running so fast? There are still ten minutes before class starts.”
“Hehe.” Wendy smiled and took out the textbook from her backpack. She lowered her voice and said, “Daisy, did anything major happen in school recently?”
“Anything major?”
“That’s right, cough cough, just like…… the rumors and stuff?” Wendy’s face had turned red due to the intense exercise just now.
“Rumors……” Daisy tilted her head and thought for a moment. Her eyes widened abruptly as she stared at Wendy. “Wendy, what’s that around your neck? Are you cheating on me?”
The cry was so loud that almost everyone in the classroom looked over.
Wendy’s face immediately turned red. She leaned against the table and wanted to find a hole to hide in. “Daisy, lower your voice!”
Daisy immediately covered her mouth. “Ahem, ahem, I’m sorry. But…… where did those things on your neck come from?”
Wendy’s heart skipped a beat. She hurriedly covered her neck with her hands, and her eyes fluttered. “This…… this was bitten by a mosquito! I attracted so many mosquitoes when I bought two potted plants and put them in the bedroom a few days ago……”RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Wendy tried to fool her, but fortunately, Daisy didn’t ask about it in detail.
She finally felt relieved. However, as soon as the bell rang, the class monitor stood up and said directly to Wendy, “Wendy, the headmaster said that he wants you to go to his office.”
“Headmaster?”
From the classroom building to the headmaster’s office, it’s about ten minutes. Along the way, Wendy kept thinking about why the headmaster needed her for.
She seemed to have only seen the headmaster at the Start-of-Term Ceremony.
“Could it be that my sister has come to school?”
Wendy knocked on the headmaster’s office door uneasily.
“Come in.”
Wendy hesitated as she pushed the door open and walked in. As soon as she entered, she saw a familiar face.
The man was sitting expressionlessly on the sofa, and the headmaster was serving him tea. When he saw Wendy come in, he said, “Wendy, you’re here.”
“Nice to meet you, headmaster.”
Wendy walked past Rex without looking at him, but she could feel that his cold eyes were fixed on her.
Her whole body was a little stiff.
“Wendy, I heard that you and Mr. Gavyn have gotten married?” The headmaster’s sudden words almost made her bite her tongue.
“Cough!” Wendy turned her head in shock and glared at Rex. Rex leaned elegantly on the sofa with his long legs crossed.
Sensing Wendy’s gaze, he lazily raised his eyelids and said, “I heard that your school can increase students’ credits if they get married, so I came to check on your behalf.”
“Who cares about those credits?!” Thought Wendy.
Wendy was about to explode. She was so angry that her chest heaved violently. “Headmaster, don’t listen to his nonsense. I don’t want this credit!”
“So you’re actually married, aren’t you?” The headmaster looked at her amiably. “Wendy, don’t be shy. The school doesn’t object to getting married when studying. Besides, considering the circumstances, I just contacted the teachers in the dormitory. You don’t have to stay for this semester.”
Wendy’s eyes instantly widened as she turned her head to glare at Rex. His eyes were filled with smiles.
“If that’s the case, then thank you for your understanding, headmaster.” Rex bowed slightly, exuding a noble aura.
Wendy gritted her teeth and glared at Rex, but she did not dare to do anything to him.
Rex raised his eyebrows provocatively, seemingly very satisfied with this result. “Honey. It’s rare for the headmaster to be so reasonable. You should thank Headmaster Falcone.”
Wendy almost gnashed her teeth into pieces, but when she saw the loving expression on the headmaster’s face, she finally calmed herself down. “Thank you, headmaster.”
Rex was very satisfied and stretched out his arm to hold hers. “Then, headmaster, we’ll go back.”
Wendy held Rex’s arm with a fake smile and walked out of the headmaster’s office. As soon as she came out, her face suddenly changed.
She shook off Rex’s arm and looked at him coldly. “Why did you come to school without my permission?”
“Wendy,” Rex said in a low voice, “I’m afraid you’ve forgotten that I have the final say between us.”
