Chapter 34 Alcohol that can let people forget the past
“Yes, we really broke up,” Bruce said. Then he had a drink.
“Jessica, I am guilty that I was unfriendly to you,” Bruce apologized for Jessica and he slapped on his Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
face.
Everyone was stunned because Bruce changed himself too fast. Not long before he held his girlfriend’s
hand in front of the hotel. After a dinner, he said he had already broken up with her.
The classmates really despised Bruce. But they wouldn’t point it out, which was foolish. If Jessica
forgave him, he would become a brother-in-law of a rich and influential man. Nobody would dare to
offend him, but people can despise him.
Taylor was braver than any other classmates. She held Jessica’s arm and laughed at Bruce, “Bruce,
shame on you! Do you think you stopped doing wrong things now? Don’t you think you are disgusting?
Now you find that Jessica’s brother is wealthy, so you try to play up to them? It is shame on you!
“You…” Bruce pointed at Taylor and wanted to scold her, but in the end, he dared to say nothing.
He apologized to Jessica, “Jessica, I am so sorry. It’s my fault. You don’t need to forgive me. But I
notice that I like you from the bottom of my heart. I am very sorry…”
Jessica laughed, because she found what the man who she had liked for six year looked like. He was
totally different from what he thought. She was disappointed at him when his girlfriend left and he didn’t
go after her.
Jessica clinked her glass with Bruce’s and whispered to him, “You think too much. All I said to you is
true. Judson isn’t my real brother. I only make friends with him not long before. If I am lying to you, I will
be hit by a car. You better go after your girlfriend now. I wish you can live a happy life.”
Jessica felt disappointed at Bruce and she wanted to get rid of him, so she said the curse.
With mixed feelings and hesitance, Bruce raised her glass and apologized to Jessica, “I am so sorry…”
He drank a glass of alcohol and rushed out of the hotel.
Jessica shook her head when she saw Bruce leave. She had a drink with Taylor and said, “Do you
think that I was stupid?”
Taylor said, “Yes, you are stupid. But it is not late to realize it. What did you say to him ”
Jessica said at a low voice, “I told him that Judson isn’t me real brother and we knew each other for a
short time.”
Taylor was so surprised that she kept her mouth open. She looked at the clothes that Jessica wore and
the expensive gift before her. She found it incredible, so she said, “Really? Is it true?”
Jessica nodded her head and said, “I swear that he really is not my brother…”
Taylor was shocked and said, “Why is he so friendly to you? Does he like you?”
Jessica denied, “It’s impossible. There is a woman he loves very much. But she broke up with him. He
feels more desperate than me…”
……………
At 22 o’clock, Jessica called Judson.
Judson picked up and asked her, “Do you have a good time in the party?”
“Judson, I wanted meet you. After you left, Bruce apologized to me. I am sad…” replied Jessica in a
hollow voice.
Judson was quiet for a moment and lit a cigarette. He asked Jessica, “Where are you now? I am going
to pick you up.”
Jessica replied, “I am at the gate of Half-Moon Hotel.”
“It’s fine. Please wait for me for a moment. I’ll be there soon.” Judson hung up the phone and returned
to the Half-Moon Hotel by his car.
When he arrived at the hotel, Jessica was sitting on the step of the hotel and waved to him. Then
Jessica entered the car. Judson asked her where she wanted to go.
Jessica shook her head and said, “I have no idea. We might go to a quiet place.” Jessica turned
around, looked at the window of the car and was deep in contemplation.
Judson said nothing and drove to the suburb of the city. Half of an hour later, they arrived at a villa
which was owned by Judson. But it was the first time that he went here. Though the villa was in the
suburb, it was an intelligent house which had fingerprint-locks.
The yard of the villa was beautiful, which was decorated by flowers, trees, running water and rockeries.
Judson took two bottles of alcohol from the house and sat with Jessica in a bower.
“Is our baby unhappy on her birthday now?” Judson was laughing and poured a glass of alcohol for
Jessica.
Jessica sat on the chair with her arms around her knees and said, “I am delighted today. Today is the
most wonderful birthday for me.
“Really? Since it’s the most wonderful birthday, why do you look sad?” Judson had a drink and asked
her.
Jessica stared at Judson and said, “I am delighted because today I find what Bruce really is. I have
been puzzled for years, but now I am no longer puzzled. How about you? Judson, I am worried about
you.”
Judson felt uncomfortable by her staring. He shook his head and said, “You are only a kid. Leave me
alone. You don’t know what us adults think.”
Jessica cried suddenly, “I really know! I have loved Bruce for six years, so I understand your feelings.
No one can be clearer than me how does it feel when you are desperate.”
“Oh, Judson, don’t be upset. If you are upset, I’ll feel upset, too. So please don’t be upset and stop
hurting yourself.”
Judson frowned and said, “You are drunk now.”
Jessica was stimulated by his words and she began to drink a bottle of alcohol. When she was done,
she threw the bottle to the ground and said, “I don’t want you feel depressed. I wish you can forget the
past and be happy again.”
Judson sighed deeply, opened another bottle of alcohol, had a drink, and said, “It is difficult to forget
the past. I drink a lot these days. Sometimes I wish it would be perfect that if there is a kind of alcohol
that can let me forget the past. But does it exist?”
