A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 936: Sunlight

“Ranita, this is a matter for Steland Monolith Technology. Why did you go to Brendon?” Jedidiah was irritated at the mention of Brendon.

Ranita bit her lip and said pitifully, “Jedidiah, I didn’t ask him. I found another friend to help.”

“Hmph!” Jedidiah didn’t believe her.

“Tell him not to interfere. I can handle these things myself.” Jedidiah was extremely annoyed and didn’t want Brendon involved in Bowman’s Mansion affairs.

Just then, Jedidiah’s phone rang.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Seeing it was an important call, he answered it. To his surprise, it was the head of ‘Miles’ calling personally to say that their cooperation had no issues and all requirements would be based on Steland Monolith Technology’s terms, according to the contract they proposed.

They were very polite.

Jedidiah was a bit puzzled.

But he quickly realized that this was probably Brendon’s doing.

What was a troublesome issue for him was a simple matter for Brendon to resolve in fifteen minutes.

“What’s wrong?” Ranita saw Jedidiah’s expression and worriedly asked, “Is there a problem?”

Jedidiah looked at Ranita and said irritably, “I don’t need to go to Strashire. The issue with Miles has been resolved.”

“Really? So quickly?” Ranita was also in disbelief. “That’s great!”

“Hmph!” Jedidiah gritted his teeth. “Next time, don’t trouble Brendon… We’ll handle Steland Monolith Technology’s issues ourselves.”

After a pause, Jedidiah patted Ranita’s shoulder. “Thanks for your help this time. Also, tell Brendon I owe him one.”

Jedidiah didn’t like Brendon because of Ranita, but this time Brendon had indeed helped him a lot. Jedidiah was reasonable and knew how to distinguish between gratitude and resentment.

Ranita smiled. “Okay! I’ll tell him.”

With the company’s issues resolved and Benedict safe, the string of good news lifted Ranita’s spirits. She secretly hid in a corner to call Brendon.

“My brother asked me to thank you,” she said softly, her eyelashes lowered. “And my father is fine too.”

“Brendon, thank you.” Ranita felt awkward saying this and blushed.

Brendon replied gently, “It wasn’t any trouble.”

For Brendon, the issue with Miles was just a phone call away, but being able to help Ranita made him happy.

“Do you want to come down to the hospital entrance?”

“Huh?” Ranita blinked and looked out the window. She suddenly saw a tall, familiar figure standing under the ginkgo tree downstairs.

Ranita’s eyes lit up.

Her heart surged with an impulse… She ran, pressed the elevator button, and with a fluttering heart like a bird, rushed out.

She threw herself into Brendon’s arms.

“Why are you here?” Ranita looked up, her bright eyes beautiful and radiant like sunlight filtering through the leaves.

Brendon wrapped his arms around her waist.

Her round, sparkling eyes reflected his face, filling Brendon’s heart with unparalleled joy.

“I’ve been here for a while, but I didn’t want to bother you if you were upset.” After a pause, Brendon asked, “Are you feeling better now?”

Ranita’s eyes welled up. She nodded and said hoarsely, “Pretty much.”

Then she stood on tiptoe and kissed him.
