A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 19 Red Eyes

With just one word, Ranita felt her blood run cold, and her heart seemed to lose the warmth that had been sustaining its beats, turning into a frozen stone.

The woman extended her hand with her fingers half-raised in the air, but then hesitantly withdrew it after a few shakes.

Did Brendon mistake her for Shannon? Her eyes turned red, and her heart was crushed into pieces inch by inch.

The man’s long breath was still in her ear, and his lips left a string of hot marks behind her ear. Ranita pushed Brendon hard and ran out.

The cool night breeze carried a chill.

Ranita stood in the backyard of the villa, leaning against the cold wall. She stood until her legs went numb and it wasn’t until the sky turned bright that she snapped out of her trance.

She straightened her clothes, grabbed the car keys at the entrance and drove away.

Ranita’s thoughts were in disarray, and it wasn’t until she snapped out of it that she realized she had driven her car to the studio. As soon as she got out of the car, a furious shout came from above, “Ranita!”

Ranita looked up and saw a black glittering whirlwind blowing towards her. Before she could even see who it was, the person gave her a hard slap.

With a loud “pop!”, the passing people were stunned.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Ranita was slapped before she realized that the person in front of her was Holly.

Holly was wearing a black sequin skirt and matching sleeve covers on her wrists, which brushed against Ranita’s face and caused a painful scrape on her skin.

“Ranita, consider this slap a lesson for you to recognize your place. Don’t be so shameless as to seduce my brother!”

Ranita’s face was burning with pain as she looked at Holly, who was glaring at her. Her voice turned cold as she said, “Miss Stuart, I don’t understand what you’re talking about!”

“Heh, Ranita, don’t play dumb with me! Let me tell you, my brother belongs to Shannon, and if I ever catch you going to the Riverside Villa again, I’ll give you a beating every time I see you!”

It was like this originally…

“So you followed me here and even laid your hands on me?” Ranita’s voice turned colder, and her gaze at Holly was filled with anger.

“You’re divorced and yet you’re still bothering my brother. Can’t I give you a beating? Shannon may be a gentle person, but I’m not one to be trifled with. If you dare to make Shannon sad or upset, I won’t let you off the hook…” Holly rambled on, her chin held high, displaying an arrogant and domineering attitude, as if the slap she mentioned was some kind of favor.

Can’t bear it anymore, no need to endure!

Ranita backhandedly slapped Holly, abruptly silencing her voice.

“You… you dare to hit me?” Holly looked at Ranita in disbelief. After recovering from her shock, she raised her hand again, intending to strike. However, this time Ranita was prepared and held her hands, speaking indifferently, “Consider this slap as repayment, and I won’t hold it against you. But if you lay a hand on me again, don’t blame me for sending you to the authorities.”
